How Urban Blooms started
It started with a student job at a local flower shop in 2013 — and a passion that never let go. After four years of learning the craft of floral design, The Urban Blooms opened in 2017.
Working from a home-based studio lets us offer luxury event florals at thoughtful prices, without storefront overhead. We specialize in fresh event florals of every scale — from tiny boutonnieres to "wow" venue installations — and it's a family affair: mom, dad, husband, and younger brother all pitch in as the weekend crew.
Favorite flowers? Chamomile and peonies, forever. But "we need to talk about red roses. After processing what felt like ten million of them 'back in the day' at the flower shop, I've officially reached my lifetime quota!!"
About me
I'm someone who thrives in the wild and wilts behind a desk. I made it through my undergrad dreaming of being outdoors, and these days I keep my hands busy with natural, tactile work — a house full of houseplants, two pets (more animals the moment there's acreage), and a mirrorless camera I'm still learning to use.
"My absolute favorite travel spot is Scotland (highly, highly recommend), and if it's summertime in Canada, I am physically incapable of staying inside because I need to make the most of the sunshine!"
